SIGNAL INTELLIGENCE COLLECTION PROGRAM
How would you like to spend your summer solving technical problems that are critical to the security of the United States? Your work can directly support the United States Intelligence Community, national level policy decisions, and our Armed Forced around the world.
Does the prospect of applying your computer science, engineering, physics and math skills to the National Security Agency’s signals intelligence mission spark your interest? If so, you may be the next Signals Intelligence Collection (SICP) Program intern to join NSA.
About the Program
The SICP brings college students into the world of signals intelligence for compensated internships during the summers after their freshman, sophomore and junior years. The program permits students to actively participate in on-going operations to collect, analyze, and process data that is used to help satisfy high priority national intelligence requirements. As a SCIP intern, you will work directly under the guidance of NSA officer managing specific signals collection operations. Interns will use and build on their computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics and math skills to satisfy intelligence requirements. In addition, you will have the opportunity to discover various career opportunities for future permanent positions at NSA.
The SICP runs from the end of May through the middle of August. A background in both math and/or computer science is desired. These programs afford the opportunity to “earn while you learn" by providing hands-on experience during the 12-week paid work assignment. Assignments are based on the student’s experience and academic status. This intense 12-week program gives the brightest math and computer science students the chance to put their problem-solving skills to the test and to receive valuable work experience at the same time.
SICP Interns will be hired on a Temporary Appointment for a term no more than 12 weeks following the beginning of the internship. A subsequent application is required. Interns must reapply yearly to participate in subsequent summers.
